Gosvaal
Special Edition SupremePunk #051 was inspired by artworks of Malevich and CryptoPunk #483. Includes original signature of Malevich. This Punk is created in memory of the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945. Since almost all suprematism painters were soviet citizens, this war and especially the victory in it meant a lot to them. During the war nearly 26,6 million of Soviet people died, millions lost their homes, thousands returned to ruins and many writers and artists fought for their homeland and died in battles. To emphasize the destroying and devastating nature of this war we chose an aggressive style with harsh and rough paint strokes. To remind how much chaos and disaster the war caused we tried to minimize the amount of details and figures. The Punk’s background was chosen for a reason. The red colour displays the flag of the Third Reich and the Soviet Union, which symbolises the similar motives of the two murder-machine states - the "Gosvaal".

The painting itself, like the Punk, is divided into 2 parts. The Punk is structured like the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences building, which is divided into 2 similar parts with the "Golden Brains" on top. An analogy can be drawn here with Hitler and Stalin, who were the supreme power and the "Golden Brains". They took control of half of the world and decided the fates of people. The Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences building is a 22-storey building in the form of two square towers stacked side by side. It is famous for its metal decorations on the roof, which gave the complex the ironic name of 'Golden Brains'. The construction of the ensemble symbolically marked the end of the late-Soviet government's investment in science

The name "Gosvaal" was invented by Kazimir Malevich himself, formed on the principle of Soviet acronyms from the phrase "state Baal". In the Bible, Baal (literally "lord") represents an ancient cruel and bloodthirsty deity. A neologism which Malevich used to designate the Soviet authorities who demanded sacrifices from cultural and artistic figures. "Russian art has once again become the servant or prostitute of the Gosvaal, which it gives to the same needs of its subjects," wrote Kazimir Malevich. It meant a brutal and ruthless state machine that subjugated everything and everyone.
Not only Nazi Germany but also the USSR fits this description. That was the idea of creating a two-part face: Hitler and Stalin. During their rule there was repression, genocide, censorship and various restrictions on freedom like "Gosvaal" - killing machine.

On the right side of the painting is an Orthodox cross on a black circle, which symbolises the emptiness. Stalin did not believe in God, he fought the church and tried to destroy religion in the USSR. But during World War II, religion and belief in God was advantageous, so the state apparatus supported the church so that people would go more resolutely to die.The white runes on the left symbolise the terrible idea of the Third Reich, which is the superiority of the race. This was the driving force behind Hitler and his army, which brought death all around. The runes were important to Nazi Germany, they were depicted on the uniforms of soldiers, featured on flags.
