SupremePunk #079
Proun
This Punk is inspired by CryptoPunk #3755 and artworks of Lisitsky. The picture attracts with the harmony of geometric shapes and color spots, sonority and saturation of color. The image combines the style of cubo-futurism with the style of folk splint, which was often represented in the works of avant-garde artists of the 20th century. The composition of the picture is fragmented and segmented, resembling the orbital motion of the planets. Overlapping segments of geometric shapes creates a sense of planned work, creating a spatial composition of geometry. Similar techniques can be found in the works of El Lissitsky.
El Lissitsky — The Constructor, 1924
El Lisitsky is a brilliant engineer, architect and artist. His name is closely connected with the avant – garde trends of the beginning of the last century-suprematism and constructivism. He was engaged in the design of the magazine "De style", which was published by the Dutch association of designers, architects and artists. Lisitsky came up with abstract geometric shapes, which he called "prouns" (short for "project of approving a new one" ). He used them to create three-dimensional compositions. Prouns are transfer stations from painting to architecture, this is what expands the two-dimensional space of the picture and takes it to a completely different level. In his youth, El Lissitsky closely communicated with Kazimir Malevich and absorbed his ideas about suprematism, but for El, as an architect, there was not enough volume of space on suprematist compositions. Thus, with the help of prouns, he tried to supplement this missing volume.
El Lissitsky — Planetary Suprematism, 1920
The famous artist Vincent van Gogh depicted turbulent wind flows on his canvases. For him, the forces of the wind, its dynamic gusts appeared in the form of twisting spirals created from thick, physically heavy strokes due to a large amount of oil paint. If the concentration of nature, the viscosity of its matter is felt in Van Gogh's paintings, then there is a certain rarefaction in the Punk. Instead of spirals, air matter is indicated by thin repeating broken lines. The wind dynamics here is not as fierce as Vincent's, it is measured and even geometric and similar to the drawing of the motherboard of a personal computer.
Konstantin Yuon — New Planet, 1921
Expressive, bright colors combined with a crushed structure create a feeling of being penetrated by light rays from all sides. This unusual work is very close in energy to the solemn symphony. It carries a powerful charge and conveys a huge range of emotions. According to the rolling emotionality and the spectrum of color solutions, Punk can be compared with the famous painting by Konstantin Yuon "New Planet", which is written in a rough, poster style. Huon's painting represents people's desire for change, their inner struggle and strength. The rapid emergence of a new planet characterizes a change in the political system and a change in the mood of the people.
Lyubov Popova — Picturesque Architectonics, 1918
At the beginning of the 20th century, Lyubov Popova created a series of about forty paintings and graphic works with the title "Picturesque Architectonics". The title revealed the main task of constructivism in painting, testifying to the artist's desire to find a pictorial expression of the structural laws of construction. By the superimposition of plastic forms and their interaction in color and form, Punk can be compared with the picturesque architectonics of the representative of the Russian avant-garde Lyubov Popova. In the explanation for the series "Architectonic" Popova wrote: "The picturesque space is built by the backstage relationship of the planes. The line is entered independently of the volume in its pure form as a graphic outline. Color plays a textured role, and its tension determines the construction of space".
