Color Manifesto
This Punk is inspired by CryptoPunk #7871 and the work of the "Amazon" of the Russian avant-garde Lyubov Popova. The author depicts non-inert matter, flat color fragments filled with diverse and deep dynamism. There is no direct stylization here, but there is clarity and rhythm of sonorous-sounding colors. The artist depicts a multi-faceted space with the help of geometric segments, overlapping and colliding them with each other. The figures are like celestial bodies floating and rotating in their own orbits, creating their own harmony.
Lyubov Popova — Composition, 1921
The reference to this work was the painting "Composition" by Lyubov Popova, written by her during the period of her "spatial power constructions". At that time, Popova was developing a huge series of works related to the dialogue of forms, their interaction and intersection. The style of the work echoes the works of the cubo-futurists of the 20th century. Cubofuturism combines the achievements of Italian futurists and French Cubists. Artists of this style sought to depict objects in motion, they tended to use a large range of expressive and bright colors.
Giacomo Balla — Mercury passing in front of the sun, 1914
SupremePunk shows a stormy extravaganza of shades, colors that seem to be cosmic, unearthly. A similar color palette can be found in the work of the artist Giacomo Balla, his painting "Mercury passing in front of the sun" shows the turbulent energy of celestial objects. When the artist was working on this picture, he really observed this astronomical phenomenon, which caused a huge resonance in society. Balla personally observed it with a telescope and displayed in his work two types of what was happening at the same time: what was seen with the naked eye and through the lens the telescope. In addition to an unusual natural phenomenon, the picture expresses Ball's admiration for the all-encompassing power of the Universe and its energy that permeates outer space. Giacomo Balla was the founder of European futurism, and his works largely influenced the formation of Cubo-futurism. This work served as the beginning for experiments with the use of geometric bodies and curved shapes for the transmission of motion.
SupremePunk conveys the movement and development of an object through overlapping shapes and volumes. They visually create dynamics and display the image in a four-dimensional space. One of the founders of this technique can be called David Burliuk. The "Father of Russian Futurism" David Burliuk was a wonderful organizer who rallied interested artists and poets around him. Burliuk constantly experimented, did not hesitate to change the artistic style, moving from impressionism to folk art, weaving elements of Cubism into his canvases and turning to primitivism. Later, after leaving Russia, the artist became a pioneer of new art in Japan, and later in the United States.
David Burliuk — Planting rice, 1920
During his trip to Japan, the artist created a series of revolutionary works. One of them is the painting "Planting rice" ("A Japanese woman sowing rice"). The impression of the ever-lasting and almost ritual process of women working in rice fields is conveyed by the rhythmic roll call of the" hands " of the character and the water jets falling from the fingers. The reception at that time was ultramodern, it helped to create a work that was classic in meaning and innovative in execution.
SupremePunk #084 solves the problem of using colored planes as self-valuable forms in art. Objects flying as if in the weightlessness of space show the dynamics of time and color, supporting the theories and works of cubofuturists. The harmonious color scheme of the work leaves a pleasant and mysterious feeling of universal emptiness.
